Ohhhhh.....CANADA!

Spent the weekend on Vancouver Island, BC...CANADA!

Caught the first ferry Saturday morning to Friday Harbor and then on to Sidney, BC!

We hopped on the BC public transportation to downtown Victoria and after walking around for a short while, we stopped to grab a bison burger above a local pub:  it was delicious and Paul obviously enjoyed it!

Orgasmically good!

This rooftop restaurant also had 2 beach volleyball courts where the "lunchtime warriors" came to battle it out.  They also had a shower to use afterwards...

Minus the jackets and clothing, of course!

After lunch we walked around the wharf boardwalk, which was teeming with vendors and people preparing for the busiest weekend of the year, BC Day, the equivalent of our 4th of July.

Can't forget about Chinatown!

Later that afternoon we took a 20-minute walk to the BNB in the Moss Rock neighborhood.  Rob was a most gracious host and welcomed us into his home, where we also met his 14-yr. old daughter, Sarah.

After settling in, Rob gave us a ride back into the city, where we walked around more and ended up having a nice dinner at "Canoe," where we amazingly met a former Punahou student and sipped some $84/bottle red wine that our gracious barkeep shared with us.

We later walked our dinner off, and saw lots of pubs, clubs and crazy young people!

Open-air public "I can see you" urinal!

After a nice night's sleep and a wonderful healthy breakfast Rob made, we bid him "farewell" and walked back into Victoria, but before that we stopped to gaze at the sound from Moss Rock and admire the madronas trees that are abundant in the San Juan Islands.

The big event of the day was to happen later, which was a concert by the Victoria Symphony atop a floating barge that we saw being towed into place from our lunch spot, the "Flying Otter."

And, the cutest water taxis EVER!

Floatplanes abound, taking off and landing in the midst of everything.

Dodging the people going on the whale-watches...

But there's also lots of really old and beautiful architecture!

And art...

Next up:  our trip back to Sidney, Friday Harbor and Lopez.
