Onward to...(drumroll, please)....TRUCKEE!

After complementing the Coast Guard boys on the awesomeness of their boat and their happy reply,  we decided to leave Trim at the Vallejo Marina and continue our journey to Truckee in "Blue," our trusty VW Eurovan!

"Nice boat!," I said as they cruised past us to get to the fuel dock.
They smiled...and no, I wasn't flirting.

Yes, that's a .50 calibre machine gun on the bow and there was another on the stern too!  Twin 225hp engines...this thing FLIES!

At 630am it was 55 degrees, cold, cloudy, foggy, breezy...it didn't take us long to decide to head to Truckee with a forecast high of 90 degrees.

Aloha Trim...our things we are taking on our journey to Truckee are on the dock.
I'll miss her, and although I know Pink Cloud is a 'way better boat for what we want to accomplish, I'll still miss Trim...sniff.

 "Truckee or Bust!"

 Donner Pass.

Donner Pass again.  The tragic story of the wagon trains that got stuck in the snow, many died and stories of cannibalism to survive.

The train tracks running along the mountainside.   We saw a freight train on the tracks going around the bends as we descended into Truckee.

Captain Corona at Burger Me in Truckee town.

Thanks again to airBnB, we scored a beautiful room for two nights in a rustic/architectural mountain retreat with a killer yard, just 2 miles from downtown Truckee.

Our room... with private bath attached.

The living room.
Jack and Suzi are our hosts, can't wait to meet them as they are outdoorsy people too!

If any of you out there are interested in airBnB, let us know and we can help you get registered.  Check out www.airBnB.com.

Stay tuned, we'll post more later, who knows what we'll be doing tomorrow!
