But safety first, and here is the Spot2 locator that they will use to send daily "We're OK" text/emails and also to be used in a 911 situation...it locks in their position to the Coast Guard can locate them.
Spot!
We also rented a SAT phone, for use in emergency only. Hope they will never have to use it, but its nice to have one anyway!
SAT phone!
It would be tight, squeezing the three of us into the dinghy, so I got to "tag along" in Jerry's kayak!
Hiawatha herself.
The aft cabin with double bunks and navigation table.
Colorful, no?
While Paul was working on the boat and Tom was configuring the SAT phone to work on his PC, I took the 105pm ferry over to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island to shop at Ace Hardware and a couple of marine supply stores.
I came across this really cool, cute garden!
I love the weathered furniture, it fits in perfectly!
And while walking back to Ace Hardware from getting lunch at King's Market, I passed this cute little house, which is actually a very expensive gift store with all kinds of art pieces.
A helmet-head, for sure!
I returned to Lopez at 640pm, totally pooped from my walking all over!
Stay tuned for "DEPARTURE DAY!"
