As Promised...OSCAR!

Oscar is Painter Steve's dog, and is very sweet and friendly.  He's 7 years old, and really big, over 100 pounds but a puppy at heart.

"Hurry up guys, LET'S GO!"

Oh yes...work:

Today I sanded the cedar shingles we spray-painted yesterday and then we re-painted them.

And here's "my" shingles on the Lavender Lady's cottage, Paul and Jerry installed them:

Jerry on the roof.

It was only a half-day today since more shingles needed to be ordered, but I had the opportunity to see the "Lavender Lady's" estate and it was absolutely gorgeous with all the immaculate landscaping of both flowers, vegetables, lavender and her famous giant raspberries.  All organic too.

Famous raspberries!

Organic vegetable garden.

Driving back from the "woolly mammoth" ranch, I realized that the only photos I've taken of Lopez Island are along the waterfront.  Here's a photo of just some of the inland areas of the island, just as beautiful as the coasts:

Rolling hills of rich farmlands with sheep, alpaca, horses, many different kinds of cattle, goats with hay, fruits and vegetables.  A truly self-sustainable island that is also so beautiful.

I will miss Lopez.
