Update, Sunday 10/2/2011

5:30am, HI time:   Received email from Paul, they are expecting to make Newport by noon today.  They were off Lincoln City, doing 5kt.

10:35am, HI time:  Paul and crew pull into Newport Harbor, safe from the coming storm.  The winds were already starting to gust, was 30+kt outside the harbor with 4 ft. waves with tops blowing off.  Trimming was doing 3.5 kt.

Safely in Newport!

Calm seas inside.

The boys quickly went to find a pub and met up with Canadians Barry and Coni!

Mahan one of Paul's crew, Coni and Barry.

Newport Oregon is also the manufacturing site of Rogue IPA brew!

Burp...

Ah, a true sailor's heaven!

After leaving the pub, the weather began to change...

Rain coming in, good thing Trimming and crew are safely in harbor.

Stay tuned!
