LEAF-GATHERING in Haleiwa, 10/16/2011

A posting of a different sort on the "Trimming Out" blog...

Best-est friend Loke invited me to join her, hubby Kevin and son Adam to an electric car "festival" at the Haleiwa Farmer's Market today!  Loke just got her new Nissan LEAF, a 100% electric car.

Today's trip was an experiment to see how far the Leaf could go.  We had 4 people in the car, were doing a little over freeway speeds and we made it to Haleiwa with power to spare.

Starting it up in Loke's garage...
its SO quiet!

At Haleiwa Farmer's Market.
SEXY red!

Loke lovin' it!

We saw several other Leafs there too, and there was also a display of the Chevy VOLT, more Leafs and the new Mitsubishi electric car.

The little Mitsubishi.
SOOO cute!

After looking at the different cars, we walked around taking in the sights...

Kevin and Loke's friend Chaz's beautiful fused glasswork.

More of Chaz's artwork.
The bright sunny day was perfect to show it all off!

Loke's son Adam with his avocados...
Hmmmm....

Loke and me!

Just one of the sights we saw on the way home from Haleiwa.

We stopped at the Tony Nissan dealership to get a quick re-charge to make sure we could not just get back to Honolulu, but to be able to make it up Loke's hill, which we did!  Anxious moments for all of us, but the Leaf pulled through and it was a fun day, for sure!

Thanks Simon's for letting me experience this with ya's!
:o)
