After our flight from Honolulu and a night's rest in Fresno, we hopped on an Amtrak train that took us to Emeryville.
"C'mon, let's get on the train!"
Our conductor "extraordinaire ," James Mason graciously comp'd us to the First Class car where he felt we'd be "much more comfortable" while using our laptops and/or cell phones. At the ripe age of 77, he came back to work at Amtrak and has been working the trains for 9 years at the current age of 86! Full of spunk and many surprises, he left a huge impression on us!
Aloha James, you're the BEST!
Once we got to Emeryville, we hopped onto the bus to downtown San Francisco!
We're going to San Francisco!
We scored an awesome room in a 1800's row house, via AirBnB, in the Mission District.
Our hosts, Aaron and Sarah both work for APPLE! So needless to say, we totally hit it off. But not just in that aspect, but Aaron is also a master wine and beer maker!
Paul pullin' a glass...
...and enjoying it in their cute little backyard with Aaron and Sarah's cat, Abby.
Looks like love to me!
...Ah, a newly topped-off cask of Aaron's red wine, and this was right next to our bed!
We then bid them all "Aloha" and hopped onto BART to take us to the Ferry Terminal where we caught the high-speed ferry to Vallejo.
The Ferry Terminal
"Let's GO!"
Cloudy, gray and cold SF.
But, once we got to Vallejo, located at the far East bay, the weather was gorgeous and the fleece jackets came off...
Paul sitting on the boardwalk, warming up.
Never ending, we hopped on a city bus to get to the Napa Valley Marina, but got dropped off here..
...which was OK. Across the street is "Villa Ramano" a place Paul went to during his last visit last year and home of the BEST chicken piccata I have ever eaten!
The best piccata ever!
Even Paul was speechless!
Catching a cab after lunch, we finally arrived at the Napa Valley Marina.
A funny little sign at the dock master's office, and then...
...a short walk down the "Teal" dock to...
...our boat, Trimming Out!
After sitting idle for half a year, both Trimming Out and Pink Cloud are in need of some cleaning. I'll post photos of more pics once that's all done...my job for tomorrow along with laundry duty!
Our trusty steed, "Blue," a VW Eurovan.
Paul bought this sight-unseen (Craigslist) from a woman in Haight-Ashbury while sailing down the West coast from Washington State to Napa, then drove it back up to Washington State and over to Lopez Island to finish work on an estate, then back down to the marina where it was stored until now, and she started right up thanks to a trickle-charge solar panel!
The moon rising over Napa, taken from our dinner place, "Downtown Joe's."
John, our bartender at Downtown Joe's, was happy to take a photo with us behind the bar and let Paul pull a beer!
Mahalo, John, you ROCK!

Don't go away, there's more to come tomorrow!
