Preparing for the Journey to Long Beach

Unfortunately,  we were unable to make the trip with our sailboat "Pink Cloud" down the Napa delta and out thru San Francisco bay to Long Beach while I was there earlier this month due to weather, so instead Paul and I worked getting her ready.

Just some of the sanding I did while there, this being the teak crossbar on our davit.

Looking good, with our Hawaii Yacht Club burgee!

And, toying around with our SAT phone in the enclosed galley/wheelhouse...

"But, I AM pointing the antenna to the sky..."

Getting the sails up after we painted the masts and booms.

She's looking good, and we've ordered a new main and genoa that will be shipped to Paul in Los Angeles.

 Getting the spreader lights working.
Yup, that's a Hawaiian flag on the rigging.

Paul's plan is to untie the lines at 8am Monday morning, 10/29 and shove off with friend Dennis to motor down the Napa delta towards San Francisco Bay, which will take most of the day.

They will motor the entire way (unless things change) non-stop for the 308.9 nm journey from San Francisco Bay to Long Beach.

Stay tuned, I'll update this blog as I get more information!  The adventure continues!

Aloha, Trim!

Well, today was the day...our beloved 40' blue water sailboat "Trimming Out" was sold.  Both a sad day for Paul and I, but also a very happy day in that she was purchased by a very nice gentleman who will continue on with the loving care we gave her.

The new owner's plans are to head up the Delta (where we were this past summer:  check our previous postings on that...SUPER fun times!) and then his adventure continues down to Mexico!

My last time seeing Trim, July 2012.
A big hug!

Aloha Trim!
And now the adventure continues with...

Pink Cloud!
